I have the knowledge and experience to develop your voice to its maximum potential, as well as advance your performing skills. If you have always known that you could be a great singer if only you knew how, or know that all that tension in your throat and neck is standing in the way of your voice, then you are in the right place. Andersen Vocal Arts can help unleash your voice and show you just how big and gorgeous your voice can be. I focus on correct vocal technique that always yields a better sound, while feeling easier and safeguarding your vocal health. I work on expanding the range of the singer by exercising the whole voice and increasing the fitness of the instrument. Of particular importance to a healthy voice is the blending of the registers so that the voice sounds seamless from top to bottom, this is one of the most challenging accomplishments in singing.

In this day and age of forcing and pushing the voice, many professional singers and students end up with vocal problems and damage that stand in the way of successful performances and progress.

In an article called ÒScreech for the StarsÓ from the Telegraph Herald, Dubuque Iowa, dated April 6th, 2007, Sandy Andersen had this to say about oversinging, ÒIt is very obvious visibly when someone is oversinging by the presence (appearance) of veins and arteries in the neck, and tension in the head and jaw which causes shaking. Good singing shouldnÕt feel like a lot of work. It should feel easy, open and most of importantly, connected to the breath.Ó In oversinging, Òmusicianship is lost. There is no sensitivity, no control, no vocal color, no real power.Ó
