On December 18th at 7:30 p.m. we will be having our annual Christmas Studio Class-only current and former studio members are allowed! Bring food for the party afterward. It is in Gallagher Hall as usual.

AVA will be presenting a Benefit Concert for the Flood Victims of Iowa on September 21st at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dubuque and will be free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken for the those in need. For more information, call 815-713-9342.

On August 19th at 6:00 p.m. Cassandra Koetz and Rebecca Kremer will be offering a joint Senior Recital. At 8:00 p.m. the same evening, Michael Burbach will be offering his Senior Recital. Both recitals will take place in Gallagher Hall in the Visitation Building or Loras College, they are free and open to the public.

AVA will present its 14th Annual Musical Theatre Recital on June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in Gallagher Hall in the Visitation Building of Loras College. It is free and open to the public. Don’t miss it!

AVA member Bethany Hedrick will present her senior vocal recital on Saturday, May 24th, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in Blades Chapel at the University of Dubuque. It is free and open to the public.

Sandra Andersen has been selected as a finalist in the Classical Singer Competition at the National Classical Singer Convention in New York City. The chosen finalists have the opportunity to sing for representatives of opera companies from all over the country in addition to competing for awards and national recognition. Way to go Sandra!!! 

Huge congratulations go out to Sarah Szeibel and Rebecca Kremer. They competed in the Classical Singer Competition in Chicago and have both advanced to the next round in New York City in May. Sarah won second place and Rebecca was a finalist. Way to go you two! We are so excited and proud of you!

AVA will be presenting a Vocal Audition Workshop on January 12th, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. This workshop is for anyone who is auditioning for College vocal programs or wants to improve their auditioning skills and presentation. The workshop will be held in Gallagher Hall in the Visitation Building of Loras College and will cost $40 for AVA members and $50 for non-members. Pre-registration is required by January 11th, call 815-713-9342 to register or for more information.

The annual Christmas Studio Class and party will be held on December 20th at 7:30 p.m. in Gallagher Hall in the Visitation Building of Loras College. Sarah will be re-arranging her schedule for the spring semester beginning in January. All of her students please email or bring a written list of times you are NOT available to your lesson.
